Bio

Music has always been home for Talisha Holmes. A singer, songwriter, and performer based in Columbus, OH. Holmes’ journey began in childhood with a love for choral music and art songs. By the age of 15, she was already performing with jazz bands, where she discovered the joy of improvisation and the freedom of letting her voice tell stories beyond the written page. That foundation would become the heartbeat of her artistry: an eclectic, fearless, and deeply personal exploration of sound.

Over the years, Holmes has built a career that defies easy categorization. She is just as comfortable in the intimacy of a cabaret setting as she is fronting a full band on a festival stage. Her music weaves together soul, jazz, folk, blues, and rock - sometimes within the same set - creating performances that feel alive, dynamic, and unique to each moment. She thrives on the exchange between musicians and audience, crafting shows that are never exactly the same twice.

Her extensive career includes opening for and performing alongside artists such as Donnie, Anthony Hamilton, Talib Kweli, Stephanie Mills, En Vogue, Kelly Price, Eric Roberson, Pharez Whitted and Angie Stone, as well as collaborating with groups like The Liquid Crystal Project, MOJOFLO, the Columbus Jazz Orchestra, and many others. She has performed on stages across the U.S. and abroad - from Chicago’s Buddy Guy’s Legends to Salzburg, Austria’s Mondsee, to beloved venues in Nashville, and in her hometown of Columbus, OH

In addition to her live work, Holmes has contributed her voice to studio recordings, commercial voiceovers, and multiple independent releases. Her discography includes three EPs (Blue Thought, Follow, Right Into It) and singles such as Would U B Lost If U Found Urself With Me, America, He Won't Ever Let Me Go and This Institution with Topher James. Each project reflects a different facet of her artistry, but together they paint a portrait of an artist unafraid to experiment, to blend genres, and to tell her truth.

What truly sets Talisha apart, though, is the energy she brings to the stage. Audiences describe her performances as both powerful and vulnerable, electric yet intimate. She calls it “diving into the music” - letting songs take on new shapes depending on the players beside her, the room she’s in, and the energy of the crowd.

Her newest project, Talisha Holmes and The Stardust, captures that vision most fully. Cosmic and soulful, adventurous and grounded, the band brings together all the threads of her journey so far - offering music that is not only heard, but deeply felt.
